Frequently asked questions

We get a lot of questions from people, so here is a collection of all of the most common ones:

1. Who is PUKY: PUKY is one of the most established children's bicycle brands in Germany. PUKY was founded in 1950 and manufactures scooters, tricycles, balance bikes, and a whole range of bicycles.
2. Where do we ship? We ship anywhere in the continental US. 
3. Are the bikes pre-assembled? The bikes are pre-assembled, but some of the parts will need to be attached after shipping, like the handlebar or seat.  With the tools and the instructions (which we provide) all of the balance bikes currently for sale are easily put together.
4. Why chose a balance bike? Balance bikes train important muscles needed in regular biking to balance while riding. Once a child masters the balancing act of riding one of our bikes, the step to a bicycle with pedals only takes minutes.
5. Why should I avoid training wheels? Balancing is the most important skill for learning how to bike, training wheels create a sense of balance but then they suddenly need to pedal and balance without training wheels and they end up taking much longer to learn how to ride a bike. In a way, children need to "unlearn" how to ride with training wheels in order to balance on a bicycle. 
6. If the bike is "out of stock" when will there be more? There will be more as soon as we can possibly ship them over from Germany - which will vary.
